Public Transportation in Portland

Public Transportation in Portland is excellent. There is a lot to see outside of downtown Portland that requires a car, but you will not need to rent an automobile to get to and from the airport, or to do substantial sight-seeing.

Our public transportation authority is called Tri-Met which includes a commuter light rail line called MAX a Streetcar system, and of course, busses.

You can get directly from the Portland International Airport (PDX) to the event hotel for $2 on the MAX light rail line.

The Portland Streetcar runs between the new South Wateront district with it's Pill Hill Tram through Portland State University, and downtown, Next to Powells City of Books through the trendy Pearl District, and the trendy NW 23rd area.

Buses Streetcars and MAX are free all over Downtown Portland, in a Fareless Square. See the map at the bottom of this page.

Terminals for Amtrak intercity trains, and Greyhound intercity bus lines are inside Fareless Square.
